To All of My Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness that I must announce my retirement from being actively involved in USA GOJU KARATE after over 50 years of dedication and commitment. U.S.A. GOJU Karate will now continue with new leadership and vision.
The beloved U.S.A. GOJU Karate Association lives on. As O'Sensei passed it on to me, his first Black Belt and Most Senior Student, I now pass on his beloved U.S.A. GOJU Karate Association to my first Black Belt and my Most Senior Student, Shihan Claudio Gonzalez, 10th Dan Urban’s USA GoJu Karate Association (1984), Ph.D. Martial Arts Studies, GoJu Hall No. 18 (1974), to have full authority, command and control over its administration, as the Keeper of the Standards. He is on his 43rd year with USA GoJu. Extend to him the same courtesy and respect that you have given me.
With my authority as the Most Senior 10th Dan in USA GoJu Karate, I now pass on to Shihan Gonzalez that full authority, with all rights and privileges, including the Dean of Urban’s American College of Dans, and full authority and control of the USA GOJU Karate Association. I have amended the contents of this letter with regard to the use of U.S.A.G.A.®; ANYONE using U.S.A.G.A.® for any reason must have my written authorization signed and notarized by me.
Special Thanks to all my students and especially my good friend, Shihan Alex Saavedra, one of my first students, for all of his support through the years.
I will remain a Lifetime member of the USA GOJU Karate Association with the authority to promote as I determine.
My love and success to all throughout life in the way of Karate. Oss!
God Bless.
Edward J. Verycken
Most Senior 10th Dan, of the USA GoJu Karate Association.
